Delightful Rating:

Social debutante, Grace Arbon is the only daughter of the powerful Wallace Arbon, CEO of Arbon International Safety Systems (AISS). When Grace lays her eyes on Blake Hastings and dances with him at her best friend’s wedding, things progress and she is soon smitten by him. In time, Blake, an ex Army man come lowly construction worker, truly adores Grace. But according to Wallace, Blake is neither born of the right societal echelons nor one whom he would ever choose or consider as a suitor for his only daughter. Beleaguered, not willing to let go of Blake, Grace is strong willed and holds on to him as her heart’s desire.

It is of no consolation that, Grace’s mother, Stella Arbon, is forever jet-setting to distant shores, spending large amounts of time and money on selfish frivolities with her lady friends, leaving Grace to settle for her father as her only family bond and blood tie. Grace tries to sway her father away from his snobbish beliefs of having a low regard for Blake, outclassed by her powerful and prominent family and is tirelessly in the hope that, one day, her father will eventually see sense and change his mind about Blake.

Amazing Grace is a short, sweet and compelling read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

*** A LITTLE BOOK OF POETRY ***

Hello All,

It's been a while since I've posted on this blog. My apologies. Life has been very challenging and hectic over the past few months and, life is still dishing out its challenges, but hey, one's got to keep pushing on through as best as one can :-)

Anyway, let's move on.

*** Coming Soon ***

"A Little Book of Poetry" by The Poetress

The book is filled with deep and meaningful verse about life's rhythms in rhyme and due to be published around December 2009.

Here is a sneak peek of one of many verses featured in the book. It's one of my favourites.

Enjoy, until the next blog post :-)

For Want of a Better Word by The Poetress

See, hear, feel, smell and taste
We utter them in such haste
Do we understand the extent of their meanings
When mindlessly concerned about our everyday dealings?

Words of joy spoken in sadness
Words of peace spoken to mar
Words of wrath spoken in gladness
Words of love spoken to war

Spoken words are in formation
Shaping lives with due revelation
Whether visible or invisible
Like it or not, words are incredible

Although words can be heard and unheard
Cried, whispered, mimed and uttered
Loud, quiet, soft and hard
Without them, do we know whether life would have mattered?

GETTING EVEN : Revenge Stories

Title: GETTING EVEN : Revenge Stories
Edited by: Mitzi Szereto
Genre: Fiction / Anthology
Publication Date: Serpent's Tail (11 Oct 2007)
Book Length: 256
Price: £6.99
ISBN-10: 1852429615
ISBN-13: 978-1852429614
Paperback
Publisher: http://www.serpentstail.com/
Delightful Rating:

A handful of these short and bitter sweet revenge stories simply entertain, a few are enlightening and there are those where the spurned heroines have much to be smug about. What is certain is that one will find, from the varyingly vengeful accounts, stirred-up by an impressive set of contributing authors, a tale to relate to, suiting the palate.

Mitzi Szereto has a cooked up tale of her own in, ‘Hell Is Where The Heart Is’, which had me laughing at as well as livid with the pathetic character. I loved it. Look out for it. Contrastingly, although an enjoyably light read, slightly lacking in a jolting impact is,‘Wig’, by Tara Ison, her victim’s reaction to betrayal seemed to have very little affect on her tough being. ’Esprit de Corpse’, by Jean Lamb has threatening ingredients that could quite easily leave one stiffly shivering to its bitingly cold and chilling end.

Getting Even : Revenge Stories serves as a good variety of reads. Attempt to read in the mornings on the way to work and you’ll be wide awake by the time you arrive at your destination.

Delightful Rating:

Mitzi Szereto, the internationally acclaimed author, editor and anthologist, collated and compiled the writings of sexual fantasies by women of different age groups and backgrounds from around the globe. Their fantasies range from the kinky to the titillating, the raunchy to the sensual, the experimentalist to the outlandish, the pure sexy to the playful and more, proving that imaginations can and do run very wild. The cutest thing is that each fantasy has its own unique title.

Their identities unknown, women scribed anonymously the enjoyment of free sexual expression without limits, resulting in this book where much pleasure and sharing of the minds can be had. These are explicitly vivid reads on eroticism at play for modern women by modern women.
